January

I've been keeping my runs to 45 minutes hoping that my leg issues shake out. Intense stretching seems to help, however this morning's run was brutal...

On Monday night I ran with Karl 'round the NIH. We plotted schemes and coups. The next morning I met Karl again, along with Luffy and Hanson and ran through Garret Park. We spent a good part of the run laughing about some ridiculous circumstances which I can't go into on this blog, but let's just say Wiggy has something coming his way...

The good news: I don't feel any discomfort in my injury area whilst running or after running. My upper leg pain might be masking it or, better yet, my damaged tissues are simply getting stronger/healing. I do still feel my injury area when I bend down to tie my shoe or change directions suddenly while walking. However running seems to be okay.

More good news (?): Sarah thinks my Achilles pain (which is actually pinpointed just above my left ankle and not really on my Achilles) is something else; something less sever. That too seems to be getting better, though I might have just had a few good days.

Now onto more pressing matters: this morning while running the TV Repair loop by myself, my entire upper right leg, from my knee to my hip, locked up. It felt as if the entire area needed to be stretched out/foam rollered/amputated. During the run, the leg felt "dead" at times - as if it were totally cramped up and as if there was no circulation. Sometimes when running the leg is cramped enough that my stride is affected -- which obviously is not good at all.

I hoped to be doing workouts by January, but that ain't happening. In fact I can't do much more under the present circumstances. Time is ticking for sure. The funny thing is (as if this is actually "funny") is that I can still run despite all these problems and any passerby on the street would think all is good as I float nonchalantly along, beneath the smile and skin there is much pain. That I assure you.
