Now What?

The run this morning went about as good as expected. I met up with a girl who ran for Cornell who is trying to get back into shape...who lives practically next door. Knowing that I needed to take it easy, this seemed to be a good fit. I often run too hard/fast when I am by myself after not running for a week. We trashed talked Columbia and kept it chill.

I only ran for 30 minutes and it's hard to know how things are feeling based on a half hour of work, but I did feel my groin to some extent (boy, these statements never get old). That being said, I was never in any pain and I was very happy to get back on the road.

I stretched after the run and will continue this routine until told otherwise. My next session with Sarah is tomorrow.

A side note - during the past couple of weeks I've been sleeping a ton; more than ever. I go to bed at 10-11 and wake up around 8. I don't feel any fresher during the day and it makes me wonder how I'm able to run 80-90 mpw with 1-2 hours less sleep per night. No questions/conclusions here...just sayin'.

9-10 hours per night actually probably doesn't help. Think you'd be better still waking up early, and if (if) you have time at some point during the afternoon, take a catnap. Too much consecutive sleep isn't always a good thing!

I agree with Ryan. I always felt the most energized when I got 8 - 8.5 hours of sleep, and woke up to an alarm around 5-6am. During my injury, I've slept in to 8 or 9am and feel fairly groggy for about 30 minutes after getting up.
