Snow Fun

I ran through a light snow this morning. It was peaceful, especially along Rock Creek. Now the snow is gone. Eaten away by raindrops and a rising temperature. Just an easy 5 miles.

Tonight is WORKOUT WEDNESDAY. I've got yet another "broken 5K" ~ 1600m then 4 x 800m with 400m rest. The goal is to hit the 1600 in 4:44 and the 800s in 2:20-2:22. This is doable, but I need to DO IT. I often "fall asleep" and my pace fluctuates. I plan to be a bit more aggressive tonight, which I think will help since these paces are faster than normal. We shall see.

RESULTS

1600m - 4:46, 4 x 800m - 2:17, 2:22, 2:18, 2:15

My legs felt heavy after 600m of the 1600m and I could never seem to get on pace for the 800s. I am running "blind" as I can't see the last digit on my watch and so I run by feel. I was a little ticked I wasn't faster in the mile, but oh well.

I finished the workout by running 4 x 400m with 200m strides/200m jog. In the end, it was a good workout, but my legs felt heavy/tired. Happy I hit/was close to hitting my times.
