Unseasonable

The rain was unseasonably cold. After 20-30 minutes of boring core work and stretching, which surprisingly makes me sweat, I left the Fox Den and embraced it all. I took off for Garrett Park by myself and found my way down to the Fox & Deer Trail just south of Randolph Road. I made sure to be take careful steps in the mud and when I emerged onto the trail, I began to open my stride. I ran 2 miles in 11:45 (5:55/5:50) and felt strong. I need to keep pressing my runs some since I am only running 5 days a week. I need to get more bang out of my buck without getting greedy. I got in 8 and noted it as a "hard" effort in my log.

On Thursday morning I met Sam and Scott in my parking lot and we bombed (C) south down to the Walter Reed Annex Trails. Luffy looked whipped from his workout last night and he later remarked how the run felt like a death march. We looped around once we hit East-West Hwy and then started back north along the creek. Lots of mud on the trails after all the rain, but not much else of note. We got in 11...nice and easy. Once back Scott and Sam proceeded to stretch and lay about in the parking lot. They looked as if they'd never leave. Eventually I rolled my eyes and walked away leaving them to their respective fates. For all I know, they might still be there...

That's just shy of 30 miles in 3 days. Tomorrow is a day off, but at least this is more with less. Most importantly, the legs feel good and they also feel strong.

Glad to hear you're improving. Any time table of if/when you'll look to cut a day off out. So you are running 6 days a week instead of 5?

No, I am still running 5 days a week Steve. I might be on this schedule for some time. My chiro reads this blog or else I'd say I am going to start running 6 days per week in June. Whoops.
