The Kingdom of Fox

I ran easy tonight from work. I didn't have any real route planned and sort of fell asleep. When I woke up I found myself on Hains Point. Damn it! Not Hains Point. Not when it's windy...but, alas, there was no wind. It was very quiet and I didn't see any annoying bikers whipping past me. On my way back to the Mall, I came across the elusive Hains Point fox. It sat and stared at me, and I stared back. We stared and stared. I nodded and whispered "I love you". I thought the fox nodded, but I could be wrong. Soon it was walking away. I shrugged my shoulders and kept on running...then I came upon another red fox. This one sat only 5 feet away from me. I nodded and continued down Ohio...then I came across another red fox! I love red fox! I, again nodded, which is apparently what I like to do, and kept on going...then I saw (you freakin guessed it) another red fox! This time I laughed out loud in amusement/satisfaction. I laughed my way back across the Mall and back to work.

9 miles. 4 red fox.

Ha! You can't beat my record of 5 foxes, including 4 playing some sort odd (and loud) chasing game.

Fantastic, Mr. Fox!

"fell asleep and woke up at Hains Point"

whole thing was clearly a dream.

That doesn't count Billy! These 4 were all in separate spots, not together playing games! Damn it.

What makes you think it wasn't the SAME red fox and it was just playing a trick on you? Foxes are sly, remember.

I don't find this tall tale particularly amusing.

It's a shame Lindsey doesn't appreciate this story, because I find it hilarious

I really did see 4 different red fox...in different spots on the same stretch of road.

Yes, I do. Her husband is an assistant to my high school coach and they lived near my old newspaper. I also wrote about her a few years ago: http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/valleynewsdispatch/s_537143.html

If you were only a faster runner, Klim, annoying bikers would not "whip" past you. I've never read a Meb tweet complaining about cyclists.

I have one excuse - Mondays are my easy/off days.

I encourage you and LJ to try and beat me up Ross Drive hill sometime. If I lose, I will add your blog to by site...if I win, you stop bothering me...
