No Pain, Much Gain

I ran for an hour tonight without any tendon pain and with a much needed pep in my step. I probably ran too quick, but was prodded along by the likes of Matias and LJ who kindly accompanied me on their respective bikes. I rolled through the warm evening air of Hains Point and thought long and hard about the upcoming race. It was the best run I've had since coming back from my time off two weeks ago. Tomorrow's workout will be the next big test.

I took yesterday off. It was a prescribed rest day so I would have taken the day off even if I were healthy. I also plan to take Thursday off. I ran 62 miles last week, which was about where I wanted to be (injury aside).

THE RESULTS OF MY STOMACH ISSUE ARE FINALLY HERE
After numerous blood tests and doctor's visits I can report that I do not have an ulcer or any long term stomach pain. I've been chasing the stomach problem for about 2 months (since Rockville Twilighter), though my stomach hasn't actually bothered me since then. The doctor diagnosed me as someone who simply runs too hard. This is not meant to sound arrogant, so I will try to explain. My muscles are broken down and rebuilt so often (due to hard running) that my liver enzymes are elevated. This somehow causes my stomach to buckle. To fix the issue, the doctor prescribed numerous different trial and error methods...including more fiber etc. Too much info? Yes, probably. This is definitely a running-related issue, so I simply need to keep precautionary methods on my mind just before races.
