Although not the time I was looking for, I am very happy with the way I ran this race. Most importantly, it's a much needed personal best (the first in over two years) and I feel as if my long (national) nightmare is finally over. A PR solidifies this point.
It was also one of the smartest races (if not THE smartest race) I've ever run. I don't think I was passed by any other runners after mile 5 and instead focused on the hordes of other runners who were filed on the road ahead of me.
I finished 59th in the National Championship.
Splits: 5:12 5:12 5:14 5:14 5:16 5:13 5:21 5:19 5:20 5:22 5:21 5:16 5:10
