The Plan

I am back at it. After a 24 hour whirlwind of travel, delays, more travel, rushing around, negotiations with customs and baggage problems - all of which I was awake for - I returned to the FOX DEN. I took an Ambien and promptly crashed. I awoke at 4:30am bright eyed and foxy tailed and began to brew some joe. Damn jet lag. The air was crisp so I donned a long sleeve. As soon as the sun was up I went out and hammered 10 miles. I felt like a junky getting a long needed fix. I cruised the RCP trail running 6-6:15 miles and loved every minute of it. I thought long and hard about my training plan and decided to nix Army Ten Miler. As PR noted, I've raced a lot this year so now it's time to get back to training. I plan to dive right back into it and get up to 70-80 (this seems a comfortable range for me). The next race will be Vets Day, though I will likely train right through it.

On Friday morning Karl showed me a "missing link" of trail along the Cabin John Trail system. We explored a couple other areas neither of us had run before and then dined at Dunkin' Donuts.
